A LITTLE CLARITY BEFORE YOU CONNECT

Optional AI.
In plain English.

TaskDam is the place for your tasks. An AI provider is an optional helper you can connect. They're two separate things.

You can start without AI.

You don't need to choose a model, enter an API key or buy AI credits to use the core TaskDam task experience.

What does “bring your own AI” mean?

Rather than including an unlimited AI service in your TaskDam subscription, the planned approach lets you connect your own supported provider account using API access. An API is simply the connection that lets an app send a request to an AI service.

A model is the AI option you choose within that provider. Only the providers and models supported by the released TaskDam app will work. The current code includes an OpenAI integration. Other providers are not confirmed as supported. Public onboarding and connection instructions are still being finalized.

What will it cost?

The proposed TaskDam subscription is $2.99 USD per month. AI usage is separate and may be billed by your chosen provider according to its own pricing. TaskDam's proposed free trial does not promise free provider usage.

A subscription to a chat app does not necessarily include API access or API credits. Check your provider's terms and usage limits before connecting.

The setup, without the jargon

  1. Start using TaskDam. Get comfortable with the core task experience first. AI setup is optional.
  2. Check compatibility. Use the provider list in the released app and its matching setup guide. Don't assume any model or provider will work.
  3. Review the data and costs. Before enabling AI, understand what information will be sent, the provider's handling of it and your usage limits.
  4. Connect only in the app's supported setup. Follow the verified guide for your provider. This website does not collect API keys.

Your API key is a secret

Think of an API key as a password that can authorize usage on your provider account. Never post it in a review, paste it into a support message or share it in a screenshot. Use only the app's approved connection flow after reviewing its privacy information.

Provider-by-provider guides

OpenAI is the current integration. A verified OpenAI connection guide will be added before public release. Other provider guides will follow only when those integrations actually work in the released app.

Before the app’s public release

The final guide must identify supported providers, exactly what task data is sent, how connections are stored and removed, and the controls available for usage. Those details are still being verified.
